Convert PNG to WPG

Need a WPG from a PNG? Here's why that isn't a direct conversion — and the editable formats that get you there.

You can't convert a PNG to WPG — WPG is WordPerfect / Corel's own format, and only WordPerfect / Corel writes it.

Why PNG to WPG isn't possible here

1

WPG is proprietary to WordPerfect / Corel

WPG is the native file format of WordPerfect / Corel. Its internal structure is closed, so the reliable way to create a WPG is to open or import your artwork in WordPerfect / Corel and save it there.

2

A PNG is a flat image

Even after importing, a PNG is pixels — not the editable shapes, text and layers a WPG is designed to hold. So a direct PNG → WPG conversion wouldn't give you a truly editable document anyway.

What you can do instead

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free way to make a WPG?
Not by converting an image. WPG files are created in WordPerfect / Corel (or a compatible editor). Free tools can give you a vector — SVG, PDF or EPS — that you then import into WordPerfect / Corel.
Can SharkFoto open my existing WPG?
Yes — we can read WPG as a source, so you can convert a WPG you already have into PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF. We just can't create a new WPG from an image.
What should I convert my PNG to instead?
For an editable, widely supported result, convert PNG to SVG, PDF or EPS.
