AI Talking Photo

AI Talking Photo

Make a photo talk. Upload one portrait, type what it should say or add your own audio, and get a talking video with natural lip sync, blinking and head movement - a talking avatar from a single picture, no filming needed.

A talking photo turns a single still picture into a short video of that person speaking. You do not need a camera, a studio or an actor: one portrait is enough. This tool animates the face in the photo - lips, jaw, eyes, eyebrows and small head movements - so that it matches the speech, while the hair, clothes and background stay as they are in your picture. There are two ways to give it a voice. With Text, you type what the person should say and choose a voice; the speech is generated for you in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian or Portuguese, and the photo says it. With Audio, you upload a recording - your own voice, a voice-over, a line you made with a text to speech tool - and the photo lip-syncs to that sound, in any language. The result is a talking avatar you can use as a presenter for a product, a narrator for a lesson, a greeting for a friend or a character for a story. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, so there is no talking photo app to install.

One photo is enough

No filming, no avatar setup.

Your picture stays your picture

The face, hairstyle, clothes and background are kept. Only the expression and the mouth move, so the person is still recognizable.

Natural movement

Lip sync is matched to the speech, with blinking and slight head motion instead of a frozen face with a moving mouth.

Type it or say it

Two ways to add a voice.

30 built-in voices

Type a script and choose from 14 female and 16 male voices - bright, warm, calm, upbeat - in seven languages.

Lip sync to your own audio

Upload a recording and the photo follows it. Use your own voice, a narrator or audio in a language that is not in the list.

Ready to share

A finished video, not a preview.

MP4 with sound

You download a 720p video with the voice already in it, in the same portrait, square or landscape shape as your photo.

Works in the browser

Use it on iPhone, Android or a computer. Nothing to install and no editing skills needed.

How to make a photo talk

From a still picture to a talking video in three steps.

STEP 1

Upload a portrait

JPG, PNG or WebP. A clear, front-facing photo of one person works best. The video keeps the shape of your photo.

STEP 2

Add the words

In Text, type a script, choose the language and pick one of 30 voices. In Audio, upload your own recording and the photo lip-syncs to it.

STEP 3

Download the video

In about a minute you get an MP4 with sound, ready for social posts, messages, lessons or presentations.

What people use it for

Presenter and product videos

Turn a headshot into a spokesperson that introduces a product, an offer or a company update.

Lessons and explainers

Give a course, a tutorial or a slide deck a talking narrator without recording yourself on camera.

Greetings and invitations

Send a birthday message, a thank-you or an invitation spoken by a photo instead of a plain text.

Social media content

Make short talking clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts from a selfie or a character image.

Characters and stories

Let a character portrait - drawn, rendered or photographed - speak its lines in a story or a game trailer.

The same message in several languages

Reuse one photo with scripts in different languages to reach more viewers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a photo talk?

Upload a portrait, then either type a script and pick a voice, or upload an audio recording. Click the button and in about a minute you get a video of the photo speaking.

Is this AI talking photo tool free?

There is a free tier and no credit card is needed to try it. The cost depends on the length of the video, so a short line uses only a few credits.

Do I need a talking photo app?

No. It works online in the browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers, so there is nothing to download.

Can I use my own voice?

Yes. Choose Audio and upload a recording of your voice as MP3, WAV or M4A. The photo lip-syncs to it, in whatever language you speak.

What is the difference between Text and Audio?

Text creates the speech for you from a typed script with one of 30 voices. Audio uses a recording you upload, which is the way to go for your own voice or for a language that is not in the list.

Which photos work best?

A sharp, well-lit portrait of one person looking at the camera, with the mouth visible. Photos of illustrated or 3D characters with a clear face work too.

How long can the video be?

A script can be up to 500 characters, which is roughly 35 to 45 seconds of speech. With audio the video is as long as your recording; clips under 3 minutes give the most consistent result.

Can I make a talking avatar for my business?

Yes. Use a headshot of a team member, or a character image, as a presenter for product demos, welcome messages, training and explainer videos.

Does the photo have to be a real person?

No. Paintings, cartoon characters and AI-generated portraits can talk as well, as long as the face is clear.

Can I animate a photo of someone else?

Only if you have their permission. Do not use it to imitate a real person or to put words in their mouth.

Good to know

One clear face works best — Use a front-facing portrait with the whole face visible. Side views, sunglasses, a covered mouth or several people in the picture give weaker results.

The video is generated — The AI creates the movement, so small details such as teeth, earrings or fine patterns can look slightly different from the photo. Preview the video before you publish it.

Other languages need audio — The built-in voices cover seven languages. For Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Chinese or any other language, switch to Audio and upload a recording.

Use photos you have the right to use — Only animate your own photo or one you have permission for. Do not use a talking photo to impersonate someone or to mislead people.
