How much does it improve video quality?

Good to know

Upscaling is not restoration — Detail that was never recorded cannot be invented reliably. Heavy blur, extreme noise or a very small source will come back cleaner but still soft - feed it the best copy you have.

Long clips cost more and take longer — Billing and processing both scale with duration, so trim to the part you actually need before upscaling a long recording.

Faces at a distance stay approximate — A face that is only a few dozen pixels wide will be sharpened, but the features are reconstructed, so do not treat the result as evidence of what someone looked like.
