Usage Rules
Last updated: October 9, 2026
SharkFoto lets you create and edit images, video and audio with AI. These rules explain what you can't create here, what happens when a request is blocked, and what you can do about it. They apply on the website and in our mobile apps, and they are part of our Terms of Use.
What you can't create
You may not use SharkFoto to create, or upload as source material, any of the following:
Sexually explicit content. Pornography, sex acts, nudity meant to arouse, and requests to undress a person or make their clothing see-through. Swimwear and fashion photos, fitness images, classical art and medical illustrations are fine.
Sexual content involving minors. Anything that sexualizes a person under 18. This is never allowed, and we may report it to the authorities where the law requires.
Graphic violence and gore. Detailed wounds, dismemberment, torture, executions, abuse of children or animals, mass attacks, self-harm or suicide, and seriously hurting or killing a real person, whether someone you name or someone in a photo you upload. Action and sports scenes, war and history scenes, weapons, horror and fantasy styles, and video-game combat are fine.
Hateful content. Content that insults, demeans or dehumanizes people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability; calls for violence or discrimination against them; glorifies hate groups or their symbols; or denies or mocks atrocities such as the Holocaust. Showing or mentioning someone's identity, religious or cultural dress, and neutral historical or educational content are fine.
Trying to get around these rules with coded words, deliberate misspellings or similar tricks is treated the same as asking directly.
In the iOS app
The iOS app has one extra limit. Requests that ask for affectionate physical contact between people, such as kissing, hugging, cuddling or holding hands, are not available there, whatever the relationship between the people. Photos of one person, people simply appearing together, handshakes, sports, and people with pets or toys are not affected.
What happens when a request is blocked
When our automated checks flag a request:
Nothing is generated.
No credits are charged for that request.
You see a message saying the request was flagged. The message does not say which rule was involved.
Repeated or serious violations may lead to your account being suspended, as described in our Terms of Use.
What you can do
Change the wording. Describe what you want in different words, leaving out the part that breaks the rules.
Use a different photo or video. If you uploaded a file, try another one.
Try again. A blocked request does not lock your account or stop you from making other requests.
Think we got it wrong?
Automated checks make mistakes. If your request was within these rules and was still blocked, email [email protected] and tell us:
the email address of your SharkFoto account;
which tool or effect you were using, and whether you were on the website, the iOS app or the Android app;
the text you entered, and roughly when you tried.
We will review it and reply to you.
Other rules that apply
This page covers the content checks you are most likely to run into. Our Terms of Use also prohibit, among other things, content that breaks the law, infringes someone else's rights, uses a real person's likeness without their consent, or is meant to deceive or defraud.
Changes to these rules
We may update these rules from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.
