How much can I upscale an image?

2x, 4x or 6x. 2x is usually enough for screens and social, 4x and 6x are worth it when you are going to print the picture or crop into it. Higher factors also magnify noise, so pick the smallest one that gets you the size you need.

Will upscaling make my image blurry?

No. Instead of simply stretching pixels, the AI analyzes the image and reconstructs detail during enlargement, so results stay sharp and natural-looking rather than blurry the way traditional resizing tends to be.

What image formats are supported?

How long does upscaling take?

Most images finish in about 10-30 seconds depending on the input size and scale factor. A 6x pass on a large photo takes a little longer but results are still returned quickly.

It genuinely reconstructs detail. A normal resize interpolates the pixels you already have and stays blurry; this predicts the texture that belongs there - hair, fabric, edges - so the enlarged image reads as sharp rather than soft.

Can it be used as an image quality enhancer without making the picture bigger?

Yes. Choose 2x with the high fidelity profile if what you want is a cleaner, sharper picture rather than a much larger one - the pass removes blur, noise and compression artefacts along the way.

Which enhancement profile should I pick?

Standard photo suits most pictures. Use Low-resolution photo when the source is small or blocky, High fidelity when you want to keep fine texture, Digital art for illustrations and renders, and Text & screenshots when the image is mostly type.

Can it fix a very blurry or old photo?

It will sharpen and enlarge it, but if the photo is also scratched, faded or creased, run it through the AI Photo Restoration tool first - that one is built to repair damage, and you can upscale the restored copy afterwards.

How many credits does each upscale cost?

Credits follow the size of the result rather than a flat fee, because a bigger output costs us more to produce. Enhance only is the cheapest, then 2x, then 4x and 6x. If your photo is already large, enhance only or 2x is usually what you want - 6x on a big photo produces an enormous file and costs the most.

Limitations to keep in mind

Reconstruction, not recovery — The AI predicts what detail belongs there from what it can see. It is convincing, but a face that is only a few pixels wide is being reimagined rather than recovered - do not treat the result as evidence.

Higher factors magnify flaws — 6x on an already noisy or heavily compressed picture enlarges the problems too. Start at 2x, and use the low-resolution profile when the source is small or blocky.

Faces can look smooth — Face enhancement sharpens faces, and on some portraits that reads as a little too clean. Turn it off in the options if you prefer the original texture.
